Step back in time to the roaring 1920’s and prepare for an unforgettable experience at The Speakeasy Murder & Other Acts of Prohibition in Orlando, Florida! As soon as the doors open, the action begins. Arrive early to soak in the lively atmosphere of a New York nightclub, complete with music, comfortable seating, signature cocktails and delicious food crafted for the occasion. The room buzzes with bootleggers, gangsters, and flappers dancing The Charleston. But don't get too comfortable—this isn’t just any night at the club. When the music stops, someone is going to be murdered, and you’ll be right in the thick of it.
With colorful characters weaving through the audience, this is more than a show; it’s an interactive experience. Each guest can play detective (or accomplice) as much or as little as they wish. Bribes, secrets, and surprises are the currency of the evening, and every twist depends on your votes. Will the killer be unmasked, or will they get away with it? In this world of jazz, prohibition, and back-alley deals, nothing is what it seems. For the next two hours, eat, drink, laugh, and solve the crime—but remember, at this notorious speakeasy, someone always ends up swimmin’ with the fishes and someone else is headed to the big house!
Although the show takes place in a fictitious nightclub, the material is rated PG13.

Tucked just south of International Drive and just east of Sand Lake Road, in the shadows of the Universal Studios neighborhood, The Speakeasy Murder hides inside the Pirates Dinner Adventure complex. Slip through the black iron gate beneath the glowing “Teatro Martini” marquee, approach the speakeasy door to Jewel, and give a discreet ring of the bell. When the door cracks open, lean in and murmur the password: “Tuna Tar Tar.” Say it like you mean it… and step into the night where secrets, suspects, and cocktails await.

Interactive Mystery 30 Years In The Making!
In 1995, The Speakeasy Murder & Other Acts of Prohibition debuted (under a different title) as an interactive murder mystery with music, co-written by Derek Cochran and Erik Hastings in Des Moines, Iowa. What began as a creative collaboration quickly evolved into a lifelong friendship between the two writers. The show’s original production was staged at the iconic Hotel Fort Des Moines, where audiences were delighted by its witty humor, engaging storyline, and immersive audience participation.
Three decades later—after nearly a year of meticulous pre-production—the lights come up and the room comes alive.
With its premiere on June 8, 2025, The Speakeasy Murder and Other Acts of Prohibition marks the return of laughter, intrigue, and immersive live storytelling in its most daring form.
Produced by EG Murder Media, the production is helmed by Erik Hastings and Gary Littman—two longtime friends bound by a shared conviction: live theatre is one of the most powerful ways people can truly connect. Not through screens. Not through scrolling. But by gathering in the same room and experiencing something unforgettable together.
That belief is no longer theoretical. As of January 2026, the production has amassed more than 125 performances, proving that audiences aren’t just ready for immersive theatre—they’re hungry for it.
