About The Speakeasy Murder
The Speakeasy Murder is a live, Prohibition-era murder mystery dinner experience that combines entertainment, dining, interactive characters, and an immersive guest experience.
We are looking for a charismatic, polished, outgoing, and sales-minded Retail Sales Associate to join our Front of House team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, creating memorable guest interactions, and confidently recommending products and upgrades.
The right candidate is naturally personable, comfortable approaching guests, and understands that great retail sales begin with great customer service.
Position Overview
The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for creating an engaging retail experience for our guests before, during, and after the show. This position combines retail sales, customer service, upselling, guest engagement, and merchandise presentation.
You will interact directly with guests, learn their interests, recommend merchandise, promote available upgrades and experiences, and help create an exciting and memorable final impression of The Speakeasy Murder.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional, enthusiastic, and professional customer service to guests.
- Actively engage guests and initiate conversations in a friendly and natural manner.
- Sell The Speakeasy Murder merchandise, souvenirs, and available retail products.
- Recommend products based on guest interests and create opportunities for additional sales.
- Promote relevant upgrades, experiences, and special offers when appropriate.
- Use suggestive selling and upselling techniques to increase average guest spending.
- Maintain a clean, organized, attractive, and fully stocked retail area.
- Ensure merchandise is properly displayed, priced, and presented.
- Process retail transactions accurately using the company’s point-of-sale system.
- Handle cash and credit card transactions responsibly.
- Maintain accurate retail inventory and communicate low-stock or inventory concerns to management.
- Engage with guests during intermission and after the performance to encourage merchandise sales.
- Assist with guest questions and provide information about The Speakeasy Murder experience.
- Represent the brand in a professional, energetic, and enthusiastic manner.
- Work closely with the Front of House and management teams to ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Follow all company procedures regarding cash handling, inventory, discounts, and merchandise.
- Assist with opening and closing retail operations as assigned.

Previous retail experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person who has the personality, professionalism, and sales ability to succeed.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who can walk into a room, immediately make guests feel welcome, and turn a simple interaction into a memorable experience and a sale.
You should be comfortable saying:
“Have you seen our merchandise?”
“Let me show you some of our most popular items.”
“If you enjoyed the show tonight, you might really like this.”
You understand that successful sales are about connecting with people, identifying what they want, and making a great recommendation.
Schedule
This is a contracted evening entertainment position. Candidates must be comfortable working nights, weekends, holidays, and during peak tourism periods.
Typical contracted shifts will be scheduled around show nights and may include late afternoon through evening hours.

Box Office Agent (remote)
The Box Office Agent for The Speakeasy Murder is the first and most important human touchpoint in the guest journey, serving as both concierge and storyteller before the mystery even begins. They are responsible for managing ticket sales, answering guest inquiries, handling special requests, and resolving issues with professionalism and warmth, all while reinforcing the show’s immersive, Prohibition-era brand. More than a transactional role, the Box Office Agent sets the tone for the evening — ensuring every guest feels welcomed, informed, and excited, and that their experience feels seamless, personal, and worthy of a night inside the world of The Speakeasy Murder.
Schedule
This is a contracted at-home position. Candidates must be comfortable working mornings, nights, weekends, holidays, and during peak tourism periods.
