OUR DEFINITION OF "INTERACTIVE"

The Speakeasy Murder has been specifically designed to entertain every audience member regardless of their participation level. In our experience. most audience members wish to "participate" by listening, laughing and with their applause. We kindly ask that all audience members silence their mobile phones during the performance.  

Our cast members DO NOT publicly single out any audience member in any way for any reason. In the unlikely event an audience member is arriving late or departing early from the venue, our ushers are trained to quickly attend to them and the cast doesn't acknowledge the distraction.   

The success of every performance is NOT predicated on audience participation. We do not ask that the audience do or say anything as a group (clapping, shouting, standing on one leg, etc.). To be blunt, the show "feels" more immersive and interactive because the actors do walk through the audience. Some of the dialogue occurs in close proximity to the audience. 

The actors ask if the audience has questions. In addition, the audience is free to engage (at designated and appropriate times) with the actors. But these one-on-one engagements are voluntary and initiated by the audience. Our actors will extend common courtesy to all audience members they interact with. 

Our actors are trained professionals. They do not touch audience members for any reason. The audience is more than welcome to offer to shake the actors hands or ask for a photo. 

Our audience members are confident in knowing we provide a safe, non intrusive performance environment where they are free to enjoy themselves.

Unfortunately, we cannot know what every audience member has experienced in other shows, what we can do is outline what they can expect at OUR performances.

In addition, our house manager can be identified by his/her name tag. They are available to answer any questions regarding any of our policies or procedures. Please seek them out before the performance begins with any concerns.
